Looking back at the last twelve months in print…

As we look ahead to a new decade, we would like to wish all our customers and colleagues a very merry Christmas and a happy new year. We’re delighted that you chose us for your print and design jobs in 2019 and we look forward to serving you throughout the new decade.

Printing in St James’s for 40 years

This year we celebrated our 40^th year of printing in London. A lot has changed in that time, but you can still rely on us to provide a great print service with quick turnaround.

As trends have changed and technology has improved, we’ve moved with the times too. This year we installed our new Xerox Iridesse digital production press. This machine has revolutionised our print offering, giving us the potential to add a range of digital print finishes in a single pass. The good news for you, our customers, is that this means we can create even better looking print for you, faster than ever before!

With an increased understanding of global climate change and what we need to do to stop it, we have made a commitment to balance our carbon output. Without the need for plates or screens our Iridesse is one of the most environmentally friendly digital presses on the market.

Additionally, through carbon capture and carbon balancing schemes, all the paper we use is carbon neutral, with plants either being planted or saved from forestation to offset the carbon released in the production and distribution of the paper.

This commitment to evolving as a company and choosing to be as environmentally friendly as possible will ensure we remain the top printer in London over the next 40 years.

During 2019 we looked at a number of topics related to print, graphic design and marketing.

We showed you how to get the most from your leaflets, discovered how vinyl banners can get you business in all weathers and proved that same day printing in London doesn’t have to suck!

Printed brochures

In 2017 we highlighted ‘the importance of printed brochures in marketing’. One of our most popular articles, we followed this up this year with an article titled ‘Are printed brochures and leaflets still effective for marketing in 2019?’. It seems they are as this was one of our most searched for articles of the past year. Graphic Design

Of course, at Kall Kwik St James’s we do much more than just print. Our graphic designers can help to create artwork which looks great. Over the past few years we’ve looked ahead to graphic design trends we think will be big for the next 12 months. This year we predicted big and bold typography, off grid layouts and metallic elements would be popular. This has been proven to be the case, with the digital metallic finishes available with our new Xerox Iridesse production press proving a sought after facility.

Printing

In December last year we answered the ‘Top 5 questions about digital printing’ and followed it up in January with a similar article about litho printing. While our same day jobs are printed digitally, for long run printing it’s often more cost-effective to print lithographically. Don’t worry if your unsure what print method you require, our print team will be able to guide you throughout the whole process.

Printing your Christmas marketing

Christmas is always a busy period for printers. With seasonal offers, gift vouchers and calendars, there are lots of mediums which need to be printed. Many customers want to send Christmas cards to their clients and suppliers at this time of the year. We updated our article ‘Why your client will appreciate a corporate card this Christmas for 2019’ and published another story – ‘Special print finishes that will impress on your corporate Christmas cards’.
